The Taurus New Moon Has Something to Say
Or, perhaps ... something it wants you to say.
Hi Moon Circle Friends,
The New Moon in Taurus arrives this Saturday, May 16th, and although it’s still a few days away, there are a some details that I wanted to share with you now so that you can begin thinking about them before the intention-setting window begins this weekend.
Most Taurus new moons are pretty quiet. Slow, even. They’re the kind of lunations that ask you to plant a seed and then trust that it will grow. This one does that too. But sitting right next to this new moon is Mercury, the planet of communication, close enough to be a partner in the planting process.
What that means in practice is that your experience of this new moon wants to be put into words.
I’m not talking about the aspirational, vision-board worthy words that simply describe what you want. I’m talking about your most honest, authentic words. Your truthiest truth. This is the sentence you’d say to a close friend, but wouldn’t reveal to anyone else.
There is a word that lives at the center of the life you’re now trying to build, and Mercury wants to you name it.
There’s some extra astrological potency to this too. Venus, the ruler of this new moon, is currently in Gemini, and Mercury is in Taurus. So, Venus and Mercury are in each other’s signs, doing each other’s work. What you value and what you say about what you value are tightly linked right now. Your words aren’t just describing your intentions. They’re shaping them and bringing them to fruition.
So, before you sit down to set intentions at this new moon, I invite you to try this:
Ask yourself not what you want to begin, but what the most honest sentence is that describes what you’re building. Use the truest version, not the most polished one.
That sentence? That’s your seed of intention.
There’s much more in this chart worth considering too: a Mars-Chiron conjunction that will ask us to look at the identity wound that keeps us from seeking what we really want; a Mercury-Uranus meetup that could deliver a surprise revelation in the weeks ahead; and a Jupiter sextile that provides fertile ground for healing and growing, if you choose to grab the opportunity instead of letting it pass you by.
If you want to explore all of it with me, I’m hosting my monthly new moon circle tonight at 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT. We’ll move through the astrology, sit with the reflection questions this chart is asking, and set intentions as a community.
Register at Tending the Sacred today.
Whether you join us or not, I hope this moon brings you exactly the word you’ve been looking for.
With love,
Stefanie
